It's easy to sit there and say you'd like to have more money. And I
guess that's what I like about it. It's easy. Just sitting there,
rocking back and forth, wanting that money.
Deep Thoughts
Week Three
So I am now at about the middle of week three, looking forward to some shoulders and arms this evening - not sure if that will be before or after golf but it will sure get done.
Don't think the gut has shrunk any yet, but I definitely notice my cardio endurance is much better, although my flexibility has not really improved. One day I will catch up to Jesse!
Well the sun is shining and we have another week of summer, perhaps I should be doing the workout in the backyard? hmmmm.
9 down 81 to go
Definite improvement on Plyometrics today. I did about 90% of what they did, the second time through on knee jumps I couldn't do double time, and near the end I could hardly do the jump-squat-twist moves. Next time for sure!
I am thinking the diet may need to kick in soon, as I would hate to work so hard and not see the results. I guess I'll have to work out a deal with my personal chef. Maybe I'll pay her rent and she can help me eat properly? Hmmmmmmmmm
In other news its smoking hot out and that makes it just perfect for some time on the bike! I wandered on up to liquor on the hart this afternoon to check out the electrical install, a little sketchy but we might let it pass ;)
Week Two has begun!
Smashed some Chest and Back today! Lots of fun, seem a few improvements in the numbers over last Monday, but mostly I just felt a lot better doing the workout. I wasn't winded quite so bad, although eating tacos for lunch about 40 minutes before was a very poor decision. Don't do that again.
Ab ripper X killed me as usual, I am focusing on getting 15 reps for each exercise, once I do that I'll move up to 18 or 20 and then make my way to 25 to keep up with the big boys. Hopefully by day 30 I could keep up, but thats not real far away so maybe not.
Now I'm off to Pine Valley to give Doug some golf lessons :)
Week One (almost)
So I did some Legs&Back on Friday that was awesome. I was thinking back over my long and somewhat inconsistent weight lifting hobby, and one thing that I can remember is almost never sweating while lifting weights. Sure some days we would run a couple miles or warm up for 10 minutes on the bike or treadmill, but never did a regular weight workout cause me to sweat. Well P90-X is all about the sweat. It could be called S90-G cause I think I sweat an average of 90 gallons per workout. Definitely a high intensity workout! Before Jarvis introduced me to p90x (not sure if I want to thank him just yet so we'll hold out for now) I was considering buying a home gym and working out for maybe 30-45 minutes a day 3-4 days a week. So far I am seriously considering 2 runs of P90X - P180X if you will and then going for at least one run of P90X+ which is of course the next level beyond P90 Xtreme (should there be a level beyond extreme? Sounds like lazy marketing?)
Oh and of course today being Saturday It was Kenpo-X which is a lot of punching, kicking and blocking. I had been looking forward to that all week and I was not let down. Way back about 9-10 years ago my sister dragged me to a cardio kick boxing class, which was a ton of fun. Very similar to the Kenpo which is apparently some form of karate. And of course I sweat buckets burning about 700 calories!
Sunday is a day of rest or optional stretching, and since my flexibility is really poor I believe I will give the stretching a try, although it may be a bit too much like Yoga for me to enjoy...
